Radial roads to ORR
These three new radial roads are Gandimysamma-Dundigal road (Hyderabad to Bodhan road), Tarnaka to Keesara and Nagole junction to Gowrelli road. Works on these roads will be taken up with the funds being provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), sources said.
In all, HMDA proposes to develop 33 radial roads mainly to connect ORR from the inner ring roads. These roads were identified after a traffic study, which recommended that these roads need to be widened and developed in order to ensure hassle-free travel to reach ORR.
Based on traffic movement, the roads are being widened to four lane, six lane and eight lane. The road development plans include widening, construction of footpaths, central median with lighting and beautification works.
In the first phase, the urban development authority had already taken up six radial roads last year. JICA has released Rs 380 crore loan for development of these radial roads.
The six roads include Radial Road (RR) No 33, which is from Indian School of Business to Gachibowli ORR. The six-lane road works were already completed last year. Another radial road, RR No 2 from Agriculture university at Rajendranagar to APRL and from Lunger Houz to Vikarabad (RR No 3) works too were almost completed. A four-lane road (RR No 4) from Tippu Khan bridge to Gandipet (Narsingi) except some structures 90 per cent of the work was completed by the Roads and Buildings department.
RR from Byramalguda junction towards Nagarjuna Sagar road (RR No 25) with six lanes was completed and a road from Pahadisharief to Tukkuguda (RR No 28), Srisailam road, has been taken up recently and will be completed by next year.
"JICA funds were utilised for four radial roads of the total six roads taken up by HMDA which comes to about Rs 240 crore of the total Rs 380 crore. The balance Rs 140 crore will be used for the new three radial roads being taken up soon," ORR chief general manager (tech) G Jagannadha Rao said.
Sources said for taking up all the 33 radial roads at a stretch, the HMDA requires Rs 2,500 crore. Of the total amount, Rs 750 crore for land acquisition for road widening works. Since the HMDA is in a financial crisis only important roads were taken up.
For the development of radial roads, Huda bears 30 per cent of the cost, while R & B and Municipal administration and Urban Development departments contribute 25 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.

Outer Ring road Update
Bowrampet: Outer Ring Road
Outer Ring Road
Main article: Outer Ring Road
The 159-kilometer Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad is passing through Bowrampet. The road work started here and is scheduled to complete by 2010. It is a 6-lane, 500-feet wide road. This has led to growth in real estate activity with many residential and commercial ventures coming up in the vicinity. It will significantly reduce the distance, travel time and access to different parts of the city.
Residential Projects
Gated communities like Dollar Meadows, SRR Heights with 99-houses community, Durga Vihar gated Villas are all located here.
Amsri, a realty group, is proposing 260-acre integrated residential gated community, adjacent to Outer Ring Road, called as Amsri Global Village. Mantri Realty, a Mumbai based realty company is planning two residential complexes comprising 800 apartments.
Rajiv Swagruha, a state-government project for providing houses to the middle class, has its project here.

HUDA townships in the plans in BOWRAMPET
The expert committee looked into all the 578 objections of the public on the original alignment of ORR second phase. The objections had come from all the sectors of ORR — east, west, south and north.
The maximum objections were from Ghatkesar, Tukkuguda, Turkayamjal, Hayathnagar, Shamirpet etc. The final alignment was announced after the changes and the new alignment would pass through the following villages —
Southern sector: Deviating from the old alignment before the Mankal village, the new alignment passes through Srinagar, Immamguda, Kongarkhurd, Raviryal, Kongarakalan, Adibhatla, Bongulur, Turkayamjal. The junctions are fixed between Srinagar and Immamguda on the Srisailam Road and at Bongulur on the Sagar Highway.
Eastern sector: From Bongulur, the new alignment passes through the villages of Mangalampally, Koheda, Amberpet Kalan, Pasamamla, Taramatipeta, Gorelli, Bacharam, Edulabad, Korremula, Ghatkesar, Yemnapet, Mazherguda, Padmashahiguda, Rampally, Rampally Dayara, Keesara, Cheriyal and Yadgarpalli East. Junctions will be between Ghatkesar and Annojiguda on the Warangal 202 NG and at Keesara on Keesara State Highway.
Northern sector: The new alignment deviates from the earlier alignments at Shamirpet and passes through Tumkunta, Puduru, Munirabad, Kandlakoya. The junctions are fixed at Tumkunta on Karimnagar SH and at Kandlakoya on the Nagpur NH-7.
Western sector: The new alignment is deviating from Patighanpur and passes through Edulanagulapally, Velimala, Kollur, Janwada, Vattinagulapally, Poppalguda and Narsingi. The alignment joins the ORR phase I at Narsingi where a `T' junction is planned.
22 townships likely
The HUDA proposes to develop as many as 22 townships along the Outer Ring Road route to facilitate all-round expansion of the city and to de-congest the city through better connectivity.
However, the following is only a tentative list of proposed townships (20) and it is also not known yet as to which would be developed by HUDA and which would be given to the bidder selected through international competitive bidding for commercial development to recover the investment on the ORR project:
Aliyapur, Sultanpur, Kardanur, Pati Ghanpur, Edula Nagulapally, Kollur, Balapur, Nadergul, Torrur, Munuganoor, Kuntloor, Korremalla, Rampalli, Cherial, Dharmaram, Shamirpet, Medchal,
Gowdavelli, Dommara Pochampalli and Bowrampet. Two more yet to be identified.
